Our Growth Group Bible Studies were formally known as Sunday School Classes. "Sunday School is the foundational strategy in a local church for leading people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and for building Great Commission Christians through Bible study groups (classes) that engage people in evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and worship." Why the name change to Growth Group Bible Studies? One of our stated purposes is for our people to "Grow together in a small group." We recognized that not all of our groups meet at the traditional Sunday morning time. As we continue to add classes, many of those classes are meeting at alternative times. This options opens up the opportunity for those individuals to serve in a preschool, children, or youth class on Sunday mornings. This makes it possible for these people to fulfill another purpose... to "Serve in a ministry."
There is class for everyone at First Baptist Church. Our adult departments are divided by stage of life. Whether you are a Single Adult or Married with teenagers, there is a class with other's just like you.
We encourage visitors to check in at the visitor's center and we would be happy to help you find a class that would love to have you visit.
