Whether ministering through the welcome team ministry, singing in the choir or rocking a baby – your involvement is vital to the life of First Baptist Church. Please look at some of the opportunities to get connected. If you have questions please let us know. We’d love to have you be part of the team.

Our Volunteers in Preschool are definitely VIPs to us.  VIPs serve on a rotating basis in the preschool/baby rooms during our worship services.  Most of our parents of preschoolers take their turn serving but it is great to have additional volunteers so parents can participate in worship with the “big people.”  For more information about serving as a VIP, contact Jenna.

Usher Ministry

When you serve as an usher, you set the stage for the worship experience by welcoming members and visitors as they enter worship service. Your spiritual readiness and act of service play a huge role in the life-change that takes place during our worship service. Ushers must be willing to wear a warm smile and provide assistance to people who attend the service.
Our ushers serve on teams and are asked to serve several weeks throughout the year.
For information about how to volunteer as an Usher, contact Chris Graham.

 Golf Cart Driver

Parking is limited close to the church building so we offer Golf Cart service to those that park in the outer lots on Sunday Morning.  We need drivers willing to serve on a rotating basis and safely transport worshippers to the church building from the parking lots.  Our golf cart runs from 8:00-9:30 on Sunday mornings.  Contact Jim Gifford for more information about serving as a Golf Cart Driver.

 Prayer Writing Ministry

The purpose of our Writing Ministry is to communicate the love and concern of the people at FBCC for our own members and for family and friends of our members who are ill, grieving, or have other specific needs by meeting together weekly and praying for these people and then by writing them notes to let them know of our church’s prayers for them. We also want to communicate our concern and prayers at least once a month to every person on our church’s homebound, nursing home, assisted living, and military lists.
This Team meets together at the church each Thursday morning at 9:00 and use the prayer meeting prayer request sheet as our guide. We call each name and share any updates we have about each person. Then we have a time of prayer for these individuals and write notes of encouragement to those we pray over.  For more information about this ministry, contact Patricia Hasselman.

 Worship Team

There are many ways to serve on our worship team.  Adult Choir is a great place to start.  We also use instrumentalists in the orchestra, singers in the praise team, and soloists.
Adult Choir meets on Wednesday at 7:00 in the Choir Suite.
Contact Tim for more information about getting involved in our expanding worship team.

Tech Team

If Singing or playing an instrument is not your thing but behind the scenes and technology is, consider serving on our Tech Team.  We use volunteers to help with Lighting, Media, and Sound.  Contact Tim for more information about our Tech Team opportunities.
